We were delighted to see members of the SuperAIRE Network’s Early Career Researcher (ECR) Working Group take a leading role at the 10th UK Energy Storage Conference (hashtag#UKES26) in Edinburgh.
Our ECRs co-organised a dedicated session on AI for Renewable Energy and Storage, showcasing cutting-edge research and collaboration across the network.
The session explored key themes shaping the future of sustainable energy systems:
• AI-enabled coordination of grids with energy storage and renewables
• Intelligent approaches to advanced energy materials and battery management
A huge thank you to the outstanding researchers who presented their work:
Mohammed Qais, Ateeb Hassan, Zekun Guo, Jaber Pournazari, Zhiwei Zhao, and Khaoula EL MAJDOULI.
We are also grateful to Dr Xuekun Lu for delivering an inspiring session, sharing valuable insights to support ECRs in navigating their academic journeys, and to Prof Daniel Friedrich, Conference Chair, for championing and supporting this initiative.
This session reflects the strength of the SuperAIRE community in fostering collaboration, supporting early career researchers, and advancing AI-driven solutions for clean energy.
We look forward to continuing these conversations and driving innovation in sustainable energy systems. Thank you to our ECR Working Group members Tongtong Zhang, Mohammad Amir, and Jie Lin for organising such a wonderful session.
